What to Expect

Dentistry is both a science and an art. The science guides our work to produce proper function and comfort, while the artistic side of dentistry directs our efforts to produce pleasing smiles.

Digital dental imaging is the state of the art for dental x-rays. These imaging systems allow the dentist to view your entire head and jaw areas as well as individual teeth, while reducing radiation up to 50% from older, traditional x-ray systems. Radiographs as well as photographs are all stored digitally, producing a virtually paperless environment for both the dentist and patient.

Cosmetic options for beautifying smiles include traditional porcelain veneers and crowns, pressed porcelain veneers and crowns, and computer-generated crowns and veneers. In addition to metal bases for building porcelain crowns, dentistry now has strong white bases on which to build crowns which leave no metal margin at the gum line. These newer materials provide increased strength and improved color replication of teeth. We also use a variety of block porcelains that are created by computer-directed milling machines. Precise tooth-shade matching is now done by color spectroscopy.

Dental appliances for reducing snoring and sleep apnea, clear correcting orthodontic appliances for moving teeth without traditional braces and other innovative dental procedures are coming to dentistry constantly.
